Shackletons Specialist fishing lodges offers exceptional trophy tigerfishing as well a 14 other species. Based on the upper Zambezi river, Shackletons is located in the middle of what is known as “tiger country”.
These are pristine waters not only for tiger but bream and catfish. Depending on the season, spin, lure, drift baiting methods are used.

It’s called Tiger Country – located in the floodplains of the upper Zambezi river and a prime destination for tiger fishing.
The waters are pristine and home to record trophy tigerfsih, bream and catfish.
Racing at speeds of 50 kph, the reputation of the “striped water dog” is infamous. Weight for weight, the tiger’s razor-sharp teeth make them one of the most exciting game fish to catch.
You can catch tiger all year round changing to different fishing methods (trolling, spin, fly, drift baiting) on the time of year.
Accommodation is en suite chalets overlooking the Zambezi river.
Enjoy home cooked meals and swap legendary fish tales in the bar.
Take time out to relax round the pool or catch up on some reading in the library.
Situated on the upper Zambezi river in south west Zambia, Shackletons is easily accessed from Livingstone or Katima Mulilo (Namibia).
As well as exceptional fishing for tiger and bream, there are over 300 bird species to be found.
From January through to December you can catch tigerfish. As the river conditions change throughout the year, our preferred fishing methods will change accordingly. Shackletons operates a catch and release policy.
