lower zambezi

Lying opposite the Mana Pools National Park in  Zimbabwe is the Lower Zambezi National Park. This whole region is a huge wildlife sanctuary where diverse game is concentrated on the valley floor.  Canoeing is very popular and the Lower Zambezi also offers excellent fishing.

south luangwa

The meandering Luangwa river is some 770 kms long.  Oxbow lagoons are home to large concentrations of game including elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, crocodile, and Thornicroft's giraffe. Originating in the national park, a walking safari is perhaps the most authentic way of viewing wildlife.

ZAMBIA 
a country for all seasons

May to August :  cool, dry winter period.
As rivers and water sources tend to recede – game viewing improves.

August to mid November :  hot and dry.
During October and early November (before the arrival of the rains), temperatures can reach mid 40’s in the  Zambezi valley and an ideal time for game viewing.

mid November to April :  hot and rainy
known as the “green season” many camps close during this period as the rains make access and exploration difficult.
