The Chobe National Park is Botswana’s 2nd largest park and is divided into 4 distinct eco zones:
lush plains, dense forests, swamps and marshes, hot dry hinterland.
Well known for its varied wildlife, Botswana is home to 164 species of mammals, 157 species of reptile, 80 species of fish and 550 bird species.
But it is Chobe’s elephants that take centre stage at this theatre of wildlife.
Chobe elephant make a seasonal migration of up to 200 kms.
Travelling from the Chobe and Linyanti rivers where they concentrate in the dry season, they move to the pans in the southeast of the park when the rains come.
