As well as the Big 5, the park is also home to many antelope specis including eland, kudu, bushbuck and zebra. Other mammals include blue duiker, montain reedbuck. Hippos can be found in the Sundays River.
Addo is the third largest national park in South Africa, home to the densest population of elephant in the world. The original elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only sixteen elephants remained in the area.
